UGC NET 2019 June :Dates, Notification & Syllabus

UGC NET - National Eligibility Test is conducted twice in a year for the selection of deserving candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). As per a recent announcement by the HRD Ministry, the examination will now be conducted by the newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA). Till now, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been conducting the examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct next UGC-NET for ‘Assistant Professor’ and for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor both’ in June 2019.

UGC NET 2019 Exam Dates:

UGC NET June 2019 registration process has been started from 1st March 2019 and will continue till 30th March 2019. The UGC-NET Exam would be held on 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 June 2019

Note: The Test will be Conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode only



Important Schedule:

  • Registration Started: 1st March 2019
  • Last Date For Apply: 30th March 2019
  • Downloading Admit Card: 15th May 2019
  • Date Of Examination: 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 June 2019
  • Date of Announcing Results : By 15 July 2019

UGC NET 2019 Online Application:

The Online Application form for UGC NET June 2019 will be available from 01-03-2019 to 30-03-2019 on the www.ntanet.nic.in website.



The process of online application will consist of four steps. Aspirants should keep in mind the below:

  • The authority will provide candidates a chance to correct their application.
  • The size of photograph must be between 10KB to 100KB and signature size should be between 4KB to 30KB.
  • The dimension should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height) for photograph and 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height) for signature.
  • Do not send the printout of the confirmation page to the authority office.


UGC NET Application Fee:

The application fee of UGC NET 2019 varies category-wise. Application fee, once paid, is not refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Fee details are as follows:

  • General-Rs.800/-
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)-(NCL)*: RS.400/-
  • SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender- Rs.200/-

UGC NET 2019 Eligibility:

Candidates must apply after reading the eligibility criteria to appear in the UGC NET 2019 exam,Here are the broad pointers:

Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree equivalent courses or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying master’s degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination have been delayed can appear in the UGC NET June 2019 Examination.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications,Electronic Science etc.are eligible for this Test. 

For Reserved Category: The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.

UGC NET 2019 Exam Pattern:

Pattern: The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be attempted with a break of 30 minutes between them.

Note: There are no negative marks for incorrect response.

UGC NET 2019 Exam Age Criteria:

For Junior Research Fellowship:

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1.06. 2019.
Relaxation: A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Noncreamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on website: www.ncbc.nic.in) SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on  production of a certificate from  appropriate authority. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. Degree. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances

There is no age limit for applying for Assistant Professor.

For Assistant Professor:

Age Limit: No prescribed upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2019 Syllabus:

The syllabus of National Eligibility Test (NET) is different for different subjects. The subjects included in NET is more than 100. Candidates should also prepare from the syllabus of their qualifying examination. Candidates must prepare as per the syllabus prescribed by the NTA.


UGC NET June 2019 Result:

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET June 2019 result on the official website. The Agency has now released the results for the UGC NET or NTA NET exam held in July, 2019.
