Kerala TET Exam 2020 Application Form Out


Pareeksha Bhavan Kerala has released a notification for Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test (Kerala TET 2020) for teaching aspirants on 8th January 2020. Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) 2019 is to select teachers for Category I (Lower Primary Classes) Category II (Upper Primary Classes) Category III (High School Classes) and Category IV (for Language Teachers - Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers.

Recently, KTET had announced the result of KTET Feb 2020, for all categories post. Those candidates who missed the chance to crack the KTET, now they can apply for the teacher eligibility test 2020 from 9th January 2020 till 16th January 2020.

Kerala TET 2020 examination will be scheduled on 15th & 16th February 2020.

  • Last Date to Apply Online: 16th January 2020
  • Last Date to print application form: 17th January 2020
  • Date to Download Admission Card: 5th February 2020
  • Date of Examination: 15th and 16th February 2020

Examination Fee:

  • For General/ OBC: Rs. 500/-
  • For SC/ ST Candidates: Rs. 250/- 
Age Limit

There is no age limit mentioned for candidates appearing for K-TET February 2020.


KTET Eligibility:


Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). 
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. 
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.


Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): 

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). 
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).


KTET Exam Pattern: 


There will be 4 papers of KTET Feb 2020 :

  • Category I (Lower Primary Classes) 
  • Category II (Upper Primary Classes) 
  • Category III (High School Classes) 
  • Category IV (for Language Teachers - Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers.



  • Paper I (for Classes I to V) Lower Primary Classes: (Duration of examination-Two-and-a-half hours)

Qualifying Marks


  • A person who scores 60% or more in the Kerala-TET examination will be considered ‘KTET passed’ or ‘K-TET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories
  • For General:60 % passing marks- 90
  • For OBC/SC/ST : 55% passing marks- 82
  • FOR PH:50% passing marks- 75
  • Negative Marks: There shall be no negative marks for the Kerala-TET  2020

Exam Mode:

  • All category papers can be online or offline.
  • Language for Category-1,2,4 will be Malayalam or English
  • Language for Category-3 will be  English only.
