NTA has released notification regarding the extension of last date for submission of online application form of UGC-NET December 2019 for the candidates of Jammu & Kashmir only to submit the online application forms during 04th to 8th November 2019 (including successful final transaction of fee).

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification regarding the registration and examination dates of UGC NET Dec 2019 & Jan 2020, CSIR UGC NET- Dec 2019 & Jan 2020. The examinations will be conducted in different cities at All India level.

UGC NET 2019 Eligibility:

Candidates must apply after reading the eligibility criteria to appear in the UGC NET 2019 exam,Here are the broad pointers:

Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree equivalent courses or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying master’s degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination have been delayed can appear in the UGC NET June 2019 Examination.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc.are eligible for this Test. 

For Reserved Category: The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.

UGC NET 2019 Exam Pattern:


Pattern: The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be attempted with a break of 30 minutes between them.

UGC NET 2019 Exam Age Criteria:


For Junior Research Fellowship:

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1.06. 2019.
Relaxation: A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Noncreamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on website: www.ncbc.nic.in) SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on  production of a certificate from  appropriate authority. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. Degree. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances

There is no age limit for applying for Assistant Professor.

For Assistant Professor:

Age Limit: No prescribed upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2019 Syllabus:

The syllabus of National Eligibility Test (NET) is different for different subjects. The subjects included in NET is more than 100. Candidates should also prepare from the syllabus of their qualifying examination. Candidates must prepare as per the syllabus prescribed by the NTA.

NTA has also established Test Practice Centres (TPCs) across India to familiarise aspiring students. All students can practice and have first-hand experience of taking “Computer Based Test (CBT)” before the exam. These computer centres will be available on every Saturday/Sunday starting from 1st September, 2019.
