CTET DEC 2019: CTET 2019 Exam Details and FAQs

CBSE has released CTET DEC 2019 notification on 19th August 2019.  CTET DEC 2019 exam will be going to held on 8th December 2019. All Candidates can apply online for CTET 2019 through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. The online application link is mentioned below.

Q2.What is the educational qualification required for different posts in CTET recruitment process?

Ans. Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.


OR 

Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such Candidates has mandatory to  undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

OR

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

Note: Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.

In case of  Diploma in Education(Special Education) and B.Ed(Special Education) , course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

Q3. What is the exam pattern?

Ans. All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.

Q4.What are the CTET DEC 2019 Exam Dates?

Ans. CBSE has released exam dates for CTET-DEC 2019 Exam. Now, CTET 2019 Exam is scheduled on 8-Dec-2019(Sunday). Here is the important dates for CTET DEC 2019 Exams:

Q5. What is the structure of CTET DEC Exam 2019?

Ans.There will be two papers of CTET DEC 2019 :

  • Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intents to teach for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Q7. What is the time duration of each Test?
Ans. The duration of each test is 2:30 Hrs.

Q8. When will be the exam conducted?
Ans. The examination will be held on 7 July 2019.

Q10.Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Ans.The exam will be conducted in Offline mode.

Q11.What is the application Fee?
Ans. A candidate belonging to either General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 700/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1200/- (if applying for both the papers). The same amount is reduced to Rs. 350/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 600/- (if applying for both the papers) for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Diff. abled person category.

Q12.Is the exam Bilingual?
Ans. Yes, the Main questions paper will be bilingual in nature.

Q13.Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Ans.No, there is no sectional cut-off in the exam

Q14. Is there a criterion for negative marking?
Ans.No, there is no negative marking.

Q15.When will be the CTET admit card released?
Ans.Tentatively it released in the month of June 2019. The candidates may download CTET Admit Card from CTET official website.

Q16. What are the number of attempts a candidate can avail for CTET?
Ans. Till now there is no limit on number of attempts for appearing in CTET.

Q17. What is the validity period of CTET certificate?
Ans.. As per existing guidelines framed by NCTE, the validity period is 7 years.

Q18. Can I appear in Paper-I or Paper-II in different cycles.
Ans. Yes, you can apply separately. 

Q19. After qualifying the CTET, am I eligible for getting the Job?
Ans. Qualifying CTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

Q20. What will be the mode of payment?
Ans. The mode of payment will be:
  • Remittance through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET Exam Fee Account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank. – Payment by Syndicate Bank e-Challan – Payment by Canara Bank e-Challan
  • By Online-mode (Payment by Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking).

Q21. What will be the criteria for Image and signature uploading in CTET application form?
Ans. The criteria for Online Uploading of Scanned Images and signature will be : 
  • Uploading of scanned Photo and Signature are mandatory.
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 to 100 KB
  • Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
  • Size of scanned signature should be between 3 to 30 KB.
  • Image Dimension of signature should be 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height)


Q22. How to create password and what will be the format of password in CTET application form?
Ans. The password for CTET application form must be :
  • Password must be 8 to 13 characters long.
  • Password must have at least one Upper case, one lower case alphabet and one numeric value and at least one special characters!@#$%^&*-
  • Candidate can change the passwords after login, if desired. New Password cannot be identical to any of the previous three passwords.

Q23. What will be the focus areas of questions in CTET DEC 2019 exam?
Ans. The main focus areas of questions are :

Q24. What will be the difficulty level of questions in CTET DEC 2019 exam?
Ans. The difficulty level of questions in CTET DEC 2019 exam will be:

  • Paper I: based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I - V 
  • Difficulty level : up to the Secondary stage. 
  • Paper II: based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes VI-VII 
  • Difficulty level : up to the Senior Secondary stage.
Q25. What will be the qualifying marks for CTET DEC 2019 exam in Paper I and II?
Ans. A person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass. Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.
