Dear Readers,


The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi has released notification for admission into various Teacher Education programmes, viz. (i) B.Sc.B.Ed. (4-year), (ii) B.A.B.Ed. (4-year), (iii) M.Sc.Ed. (6-year), (iv) B.Ed. (2-year), (v) M.Ed. (2-year), (vi) B.Ed. M.Ed. (3-year) run under Regional Institutes of Education(RIE).

Common Entrance Examination (CEE) will be conducted at various centres across the country on June 9, 2019.All the candidate can apply through their official website.

+2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science (PCM/PCB) with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.

B.A.B.Ed.(integrated Programme to prepare secondary school teachers in English and Social Science)
4 yr
+2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science/Commerce/Arts with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.

M.Sc.Ed.(integrated Programme to prepare higher secondary school teachers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)
6 yr
+2/Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science and Mathematics (PCM) with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates). The candidates who have passed this examination in 2017, 2018 and appearing/ appeared in 2019 are only eligible.

B.Ed.(programme to prepare secondary school teachers in Science & Mathematics/Language & Social Science)
2 yr
Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science or Mathematics or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/PwD candidates).

M.Ed.(programme to prepare teacher educators and other professionals in education)
2 yr
Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. Programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates) in B.Ed. / B.A.Ed./ B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed./B.El.Ed./D.El.Ed. (with bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science).

B.Ed.M.Ed.(programme to prepare teacher educators and other professionals in education)
3 yr
A post graduate degree in science / social science/ humanity from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55%marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).

Exam Pattern:

  • No. of Questions-80
  • Time Duration-120 minutes.
Subjects:
  1. Language Proficiency in English-20 questions
  2. Teaching Aptitude/Attitude -30 questions
  3. Reasoning Ability 30 questions.
  • Medium of Test Booklets – only in English and Hindi (except for language proficiency)
  • Correct answer-2 marks each
  • Negative marking  -0.5 marks
